Piravom is a municipality located in the Muvattupuzha Taluk in Ernakulam district, Kerala. It is located 40 km north of Kottayam town and 31 km east of Ernakulam city. The name, “Piravom” in Malayalam means ‘birth’ and is situated on the banks of Muvattupuzha River. It is part of the Piravom assembly constituency and Kottayam Lok Sabha constituency. Piravom Railway Station, Cochin International Airport and Piravom private bus stand provide good connectivity to the region.
