The area got its name from the hospital built in 1591 AD which is more than 400 years old meaning “The House Of Health”. Geographically Darushifa is towards the South Of Hyderabad on the banks of Musi River and is flanked by areas like Noor Khan Bazar, Dabeerpura, Purani Haveli and Chatta Bazaar. It is very close to historic sites like Charminar, Salar Jung Museum, The Nizam’s Museum, Machili Kaman and Chowmahalla Palace.
